About

We believe in making the invisible visible.

Implikit is a neurotechnology initiative that leverages the science of power and compassion to address systemic challenges. Our founding platform combined immersive virtual reality with neuroimaging to address implicit racial bias, ushering in neuroresponsive VR. It was designed as a springboard for dialogue on the risks and ethics of neurotechnology, seeking to prompt discussion around questions of power, distribution, privacy, biological determinism, shame, gamification, data ownership, and security.

Our team conducts research, teaching, and consulting at pre-eminent academic, intergovernmental and multinational organizations, exploring the ethics of technology with the aim of fostering collaboration, innovation, and justice. Our footprint is global in reach, having partnered and facilitated in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America, and South America.

We recognize that technology is not neutral, and should not be treated as such. Today, we work with organizations to explore the ethics of technology and amplify impact.

Implikit was founded in 2016 at the MIT Media Lab. It was incubated at The Future Society, a technology think tank at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and was subsequently ushered into the Fluid Interfaces Group at MIT.
